U suvremenom kontekstu migracija stanovnika iz Afrike i Azije u Europu, što zbog ekonomske neimaštine, što zbog sukoba i progona u njihovim zemljama, „El Shatt – Nacrt za utopiju“, film redatelja Ivana Ramljaka, služi kao podsjetnik i upozorenje nama da se globalne političke situacije mogu promijeniti te da se i mi u zemljama koje se smatraju stabilnima, vrlo lako možemo naći na suprotnoj strani gdje tražimo sigurnost i utočište kod drugih. Tako je bilo u Drugom svjetskom ratu. Tako je bilo i u Domovinskom ratu. Ovaj film je važan podsjetnik da izbjeglištvo nikada ne izgleda „lijepo“, već da se radi i dalje o teškom preživljavanju, prilagođavanju na nove, strane i izazovne uvjete te na neopisivu neizvjesnost povratka i ostanka, ali i pronalazak malih sreća u zajedništvu ljudi. „Nacrt za utopiju“ svima nam je podsjetnik: bilo tko od nas može biti izbjeglica.

Opis filma:
„Stotine promrzlih i izgladnjelih ljudi plutaju na brodovima usred Mediterana bježeći od rata. Scene koje smo navikli gledati u posljednje vrijeme… Ali godina je 1944. i izbjeglice bježe u drugom smjeru: iz Europe u Afriku. Nakon kapitulacije fašističke Italije, a prije dolaska njemačke vojske, Tito je uz pomoć Saveznika odlučio evakuirati 28 000 stanovnika Dalmacije u Egipat, gdje su zatim dvije godine živjeli pod šatorima usred pustinje. Izbjeglice su iskoristili priliku i sagradili svojevrsno komunističko model naselje koje je trebalo pokazati Zapadu kako će izgledati nova Jugoslavija kad završi rat. Ovo je priča o njima.“

Prije i nakon filma u Velikoj dvorani Pogona Jedinstvo moći će se pogledati izložba radova učenika Škole primijenjene umjetnosti i dizajna u Zagrebu s radionice iranskog vezenja koju je vodila Tayebeh Ebrahim.
Ovaj program održava se uz financijsku podršku Grada Zagreba, Gradskog ureda za kulturu i civilno društvo kroz program Kultura i umjetnost u zajednici te Zaklade Kultura nova.

Platforme Upgrade invites you to join us for the screening of the film „El Shatt – A Blueprint for Utopia“ on February 20th in Pogon Jedinstvo (Tranjanska struga 34) at 18:00.
In the contemporary context of residents migrating from Africa and Asia into Europe, whether due to economic poverty or confilcts and persecution in their home countries, „A Blueprint for Utopia“ by director Ivan Ramljak servers as a reminder and a warning to us that global political situations can change and that we, in countries that are considered stable, can easily find ourselves on the opposite side – looking for security and sanctuary in other places. This was the case in World War II and during the Croatian War of Independence. This film is an important reminder that being a refugee is never „pretty“, but an experience of constant survival, adapting to new, foreign and challenging conditions and dealing with extreme uncertainty of returning, or even remaining. „A Blueprint for Utopia“ is a reminder to all: any one of us can become a refugee.

Description:
Hundreds of frostbitten and starving people are drifting on boats in the middle of the Mediterranean, fleeing from war. Scenes we have become accustomed to seeing recently… But the year is 1944 and the refugees are fleeing in the opposite direction: from Europe to Africa. After the capitulation of Fascist Italy, and before the arrival of the German army, Tito, with the help of the Allies, decided to evacuate 28,000 residents of Dalmatia to Egypt, where they then lived under tents in the middle of the desert for two years. The refugees took the opportunity to build a kind of communist model settlement that was meant to show the West what the new Yugoslavia would look like when the war ended. This is their story.

Before and after the film attendees will be able to view the exhibition of works by students of the Zagreb School for Applied Arts and Design, made during an Iranian embroidery workshop, lead by Tayebeh Ebrahim.
